Tucked away in the savannah plains and acacia-dotted safari destination that is the greater Mabula Private Game Reserve, our intimate, five-star safari lodge consists of luxuriously appointed safari tents.
Each secluded tent is raised on a platform with a private wooden deck that allows for safaris or star gazing during a safari near Gauteng. The five canvas tents epitomise unrivalled comfort and are done up in tasteful safari-style décor, toned-down colours and natural materials that are reminiscent of ‘Out of Africa’.
Deliberately arranged in such a manner to offer utmost privacy and only welcoming only 10 guests at a time, Kwafubesi Tented Safari Camp is well suited to families travelling with children (8 years and older) or small groups looking for personal attention.
The spacious tented bedrooms of this small game lodge comfortably accommodate twin or double beds, bedside tables, hanging cupboards and power points. Meanwhile, the tea- and coffee-making facilities, electric blankets, fans and ice buckets with bottled water ensure that guests are always comfortable no matter the weather conditions while on safari.
After an exciting day in the African wilderness, indulge in a large stone bath or shower with hot and cold running water in the en-suite bathrooms, before drifting off to sleep to the sounds of nature as it envelops the game reserve.

BY ROAD:
Take N1 freeway towards Pretoria. Turn off onto Pietersburg highway. Follow the road to Bela Bela. Take the Bela Bela Settlers off ramp. Turn left at yield sign and proceed for 5kms to T junction turn right into town. Go over bridge and turn left at the garage. Follow Thabazimbi road. Follow road past the Forever Resorts Aventura down to the traffic circle. At circle turn left on the Thabazimbi Rooiberg road and proceed along for 34kms. Look out for the “ Mabula trading store”. 500m past the store turn right on Rooiberg tarred road. Follow Mabula signs for 11kms to Mabula gate.
Road transfers to and from OR Tambo Airport can be arranged at an additional charge.
